FIVE ITEMS TO HELP YOU WASTE LESS

FIVE EVERYDAY ITEMS TO HELP YOU WASTE LESS

As my final post for Plastic Free July, and in keeping with the ‘waste less‘ theme, I’m sharing the five everyday items that help me do just that!

These everyday items don’t take up a ton of room in my tote bag, but they do help me avoid resorting to single-use plastic.

  • Reusable water bottle
  • Cutlery kit with reusable straws
  • Cotton totes and small bags
  • Beeswax wraps
  • Reusable coffee cups

You probably have one of these lying around the house already. If not, there are a myriad of options from Biome.

2. Cutlery kit with reusable straws

Lifechanging! Never use flimsy and wasteful plastic cutlery again!

This incredibly cute and useful utensil roll is from A Beautiful Refuge. I got my stainless steel reusable straws from Ritual, and are also available from Biome.

3. Cotton totes and small bags

Always be armed with a cotton tote to avoid plastic bags if you make an impromptu trip to the supermarket. The little cotton bags are perfect to buy loose fruits and vegetables, or bulk-buy oats and grains.

Find both from A Beautiful Refuge.

4. Beeswax wraps

Use these instead of conventional plastic clingwrap – and avoid contaminating your food with plastic.

Follow this easy (and fun!) DIY here.

5. Reusable coffee cup

Need your daily hit of coffee? Me too. Reduce the impact on the environment with BYO cup.

A good option is the reusable Keep Cup (Made in Australia) – I have an Oxfam version.

Did you participate in Plastic Free July? Are you inspired to put together your own zero waste kit?

Yours Fairly,

Ashlee
