I’m really excited to share with you the progress on the social enterprise, A Beautiful Refuge, that I’m a partner of. A Beautiful Refuge is an extension of a resource center for women and children in crisis based in the Philippines, The Safe Refuge, and is supported by members of the Ethical Blogger Network. A Beautiful Refuge exists to provide Filipina women with an opportunity for dignified, stable employment creating ethically-made homewares and garments.
The EBN founder and my friend Hannah has just wrapped up six weeks in the Philippines working hard on making our launch a success. Here are some snippets:

Though it hasn’t been without challenges, we are very happy with the progress so far and can’t wait to share the next steps with you. A big thank you to Hannah for all her hard work on recruiting me as a partner and for working so hard to help get ABR off the ground, and to Nicola Harger for these screenprinting and workshop photos.
Yours Fairly,
Ashlee
Wow, I’m loving the mission of A Beautiful Refuge, and also the products! The status quo text is my favorite :)
